Love makes your heart feel strange inside

I woke at 7.30, and went downstairs for coffee whilst Himself Napped.

Tooli was up and out for a walk.  Himself was still napping when she came back.

Himself and I headed to the Allotment.  I was horrified at the weeds when i was up mid-week.   We promised not to overdo it, but to clear bits.

I stood in my plot and was completely overwhelmed by it all.

I decided to weed my leeks.   I really want the leeks to succeed, so clearing them was a must.   I cleared the weeks, piled the soil around them, and then did the Broccolli and Kale beside them (half a bed each).  I found 3 cauliflowers.   (The Church Flower Sale, "It's kale, yes it's kale")

I cleared the majority of the broccoli - Tooli and I are the only ones who eat it.   Brussells are still on track.   My other bed of leeks (the 95 I planted a few weeks ago - are also showing promise.

Then I weeded my Flower bed. (square).  And Replanted a couple of Verbana which had appeared on the path.  Then I did my other flower bed, rectangle, and I had a chat with the ladies on the other side of the path who are a realtively new couple, and were iin awe of my beautiful flowers.

I cleared the paths around both beds, and then tackled the back border behind both flower beds.  It filled a whole bag itself.

Then I did the Path along the front, where my Sweet peas, sunflowers and cosmos are. ANOTHER bag.   I pulled some Green Beans, and some Carrots.  Si dug up a bag of potatoes.   We examined the lettuce and believe there is sufficient for this week.

Then I needed to water my hanging baskets - The swee peas have wound their way around the gate post so I can't take them down and soak them.  :-(

I went back and did some more of the path.  And I stood, and couldn't figure where I was..... I said to Himself, "Definiely time to go home, am having a moment".

We came home and had a cup of coffee, and a hobnob, and Himself pulled out the lawnmower and did the front and back lawn.  Am so glad he did - it's raining now

While he showered, I took my bike out.  Oh goodness it is a great ride.  I went up hills without pedalling.  And Laughed at the top of my lungs, with the sheer joy.   I pedalled around a circle and came back and thought I would go again and I set off.  I managed to switch the electric off half way round and stopped outside the house to put it on again.

And then I had to cycle round again, just to check it was me bein an idiot and not the bike.   It was me.

I showered and took a quick jaunt down town to get some underarm.  I'm a sweaty old thing.  My knee was giving me some gyp - with all that gardening and cycling, and I didn't have himself to give me an arm.  I was treading very carefully.

In other news... the old safeway carpark has been relaid.  Big source of contention . Safeway moved to a new purpose built unit years ago - the remaining shop has been New Look, Superdrug, Boots, Costa, and a couple of charity shops.    Lidl bought it two years ago  - One of the charity shops refused to move out.  Lidl have now given up and have put it up for sale again.   No one was looking after the car park, and it resembles the moon.

I haven't been in it for months, I'm feart the car will break.  But it has now been relaid (the part owned by Lidl) the part owned by the Council is still woeful.   it was a joy.

Local pub in which Si and I embarassed ourselves a couple of month ago in, has taken on board Si's enthusiastic suggestions.  They now have a free juke box at the weekend and on Sunday's karaoke, and a POOL Table.

Karaoke was in full swing as I drove past at 4pm.  Oh dear god. They were having fun.

Then I came home and finished my book in a comfy corner.

Once more I completely horrified Si by bursting into tears at the end of it    It was a good 15 minutes before I had calmed down enough to tell him no, it wasn't a happy sad, it was  a distraught sad.    "The Last Family in England, Matt Haig".     I just can't.

Tooli and I have just enjoyed one of Si's amazing roasts.  Our Potatoes, Our Cauli, our cabbage, and our beans.   Heavens but it was good.  I may have to go and lay down.
