Village pond

Wonderful summers day.
We walked over to the pond . The water level is still going down.
I wanted to see how the ducklings were coming along but they were all hidden amongst the undergrowth out of the sun.
The water level is still very low.
Thought we saw some fish coming up for air,
Nice to see the swallows swooping down to have a drink.

This evening we enjoyed a barbecue with our neighbours.
They brought the dessert.  Figs picked from their tree , roasted with  honey and served with real Yorkshire sticky stem ginger ice cream. Absolutely delicious. ( see extra)
So lovely to sit outside until  almost 10 pm and not feel cold.
A perfect summers day.
