Today would have been my parents' 62nd wedding anniversary. Now that I think of it, the fact that they celebrated 31 years of being married was pretty amazing considering my mum's health.
Today has been busy/full. I got in touch with one of the ladies who comes to T@3 and invited her to visit the Lodge. It was such short notice, but she said Yes! I then jumped into action to get the place ready.
It was good to be at the service in Wonersh. It's such a tiny congregation, but people do faithfully come. Sadly, I couldn't stay for coffee because I wanted to get to B&Q to return an unused bag of gravel. Whilst there, I spotted the Goddard's food truck. This truck has been in my blips going all the way back to 2012 or 2013. I haven't eaten from here in ages, so I was thrilled to get a jumbo sausage with cheese for my lunch. :)))
That done, I had to stop at a grocery store for milk and orange juice. I wish I had thought this through better, as my chosen store (Welcome in Shere) was impossible to park at. Anyway, the visit went really well. Anne and her daughter Kathryn came, and we chatted effortlessly. And then - Kathryn helped fix the vertical blinds! Amazing.
I got my guitar out after they left. I love it, and it is too sad for words that it doesn't get played enough. It took a while to tune it (the onboard power supply needs to be repaired), and ideally, the strings should be changed, but once tuned (thanks to a tuner app), I enjoyed playing a few tunes from my SOF book.
And much later, I finally got to have a voice conversation with G. She's been gone nearly two weeks. And it looks like we are heading into another heatwave. Argh.
