2025 Thursday — Christmas in July

The best moments of life are often in the small unforgettable minutes, the ones that multiply exponentially into forever memories. One of those moments happened today . . . it was Christmas in July here at Funville.

For several months a dear friend has loaned us a couple of her ukuleles so Mr. Fun & I could learn about them and decide what we should get for our own. Then two SoCal friends, Scott & Peg, told us not to purchase ukes, they had an abundance of them because they had taught a class of 4th graders how to play ukuleles and they had gathered up every spare uke in the land and have an abundance and they would send us two. Wow!

They not only sent us two, they printed and sent some helpful instructions and recommended an online teacher, Bernadette, who is top-notch.

Our Summer 2025 focus is to learn how to play some music. This has been a lot of fun and definitely frustration has spiced a few moments. We probably won’t be performing with the UkeLadies any time soon, but we sure enjoy attending their rehearsals every week and now we have our own ukuleles thanks to Scott & Peg.
