Leycesteria Formosa

AKA Himalayan Honeysuckle.
I've done a bit of light pruning on this plant. Well actually there are 2 dumpy bags full of the pieces I've cut off! To get me back it has scratched my arm so I now smell of TCP. Where I've pruned it,  it's like bamboo! Really quite thick, with hollow stems and very sharp.
Formosa is the old name for Taiwan, which is where our daughter in law and our grandsons were born, so presumably the plant also originated from there.
When I was a child and collecting stamps, I can remember the Formosa ones as they were always really beautiful with pictures of flowers or nature.
Our family are heading back there on Wednesday for a working holiday (they both have businesses there) and to visit the other grandparents who aren't too well.
I've been waiting in most of the day for the man who is going to service the sewage system. It's now nearly 4:30pm.  Another day I won't get back!
P.S. I had just posted my Blip and the engineer arrived. He apologised profusely as he was delayed at the previous call.
