Brown but a blue!
First a correction!
Friday's lizard was actually a Common or Smooth Newt! I realised too late but have now sorted it!
We had a lovely wander this afternoon (Sunday) .... 'up the road' again :-)
No sign of the newt so hopefully it has found a safe place to hide!
We did see this lovely female Common Blue butterfly.
You can just see a hint of the brown on the upperside of the wings, whereas the males are blue! The underside visible here has a rather distinct pattern.
Extra ~ a Moorhen with two young swimming across the river.
