We're not going yet, but today WhatsApp was very busy, both with trip arrangements and climbing plans for the coming week.
Post Covid there was to have been a trip to the Alps, and with the huts just opening it was necessary to bring a sleeping bag, with the traditional blankets being deemed unsafe. Our group sourced one-season bags from Aldi cheaply. The trip never happened, which was just as well because I think we'd have been cold, even with a liner. However, for this forthcoming trip we won't be at altitude and should be warm enough.
I took the photo to show the others that, once released, it was totally impossible to get the bag back into its stuffsack... well you get what you pay for! I sent it to Sue because she and her husband have bought small sleeping bags from Mountain Warehouse, and I wondered whether the same was true for theirs.
As it happens it doesn't matter, because Fi's husband is doing a similar trip to us walkers, on his motorbike, and has offered to carry my sleeping bag (+pillowcase and nightwear;-)) and Sue's. Excellent! Anything that lightens my load is welcome... and necessary.
