Tortoise corner.
Frankie the tortoise hangs out in this area of the back garden. She hibernates behind the palm tree and eats the orange flowers.
Today I almost stepped on her as I came down the steps. I stood still and she came marching towards me at maximum tortoise speed, then stopped, just a couple of inches from my flip flops, looking from one foot to the other.
Before she coulĸ decide whether or not my toes were edible, I took a quick step backwards.
Yesterday's sail was marred by S still having a painful arm, which meant me having to do more than my share of boat jobs. Sailing certainly makes the muscles work, especially the legs. Glad to know I'm gaining agility again too.
Tomorrow we are going to have family + unrelated young cousin and middle aged aunt on board. Too many useless people crowded on a small sailing boat is not a recipe for happiness.
Luckily my son is competent and will help us, the sea will be calm and the breeze will be light.
