Butterflies
This morning, I spent fifteen minutes doing a butterfly survey in my garden (officially, a day late for the Big Butterfly Count, but never mind!). I saw a few Gatekeepers, a Small White butterfly, a Hummingbird Hawkmoth, and this female Common Blue butterfly nectaring on Birds Foot Trefoil in the "lawn". Perhaps she was also looking for a good site on which to lay her eggs. Later, a Brimstone appeared briefly.
It became very hot (27C) by late morning, and quite humid late afternoon.
