Culmination
....of a busy day.
I agreed, somewhat reluctantly, to be on a panel on Academic Freedom in the EIF this afternoon. It was tricky, to say the least. But they mainly repaid me through concert tickets, namely two excellent tickets, shared with CB, to one of the premium concerts of the Festival, a celebration of Yehudi Menuhin. Very fine it was too. .
That was the end of the day, but earlier I was underway well before 8am, with a peloton workout, my usual Monday meeting with my colleague from the RSE premises, an RSE meeting, an online meeting and then a rush to the Hub for the panel event. After that, I cycled home to drop most of my stuff, and took myself over to Leith Walk for something to eat (from the Greek place). Then I caught most of meles' concert, some of the audience for which (the OU component) had been in the academic freedom panel earlier on. That felt strange. I left slightly early to cycle back up to the Usher Hall, but actually I could have stayed to the end as it took me less time than I expected (yay, to electric bikes) to get back to the Usher Hall.
CB and I were going to go for a drink afterwards, but the concert was at least half an hour longer than we expected, so we headed home in opposite directions.
I'm just about ready to collapse into bed.
