Deschutes and Crooked River Canyon
Still catching up on back blips!
We did some exploring this morning - headed up towards Mt. Bachelor on a forest service road where Dick had had some previous luck fishing. It was a phenomenally gorgeous spot (in the main). He fished, caught a trout which eventually worked its way off the hook, and I sat on a log and sketched. Fireweed was in abundance (see extra).
We stopped in Sunriver to explore and have lunch. Later we headed over to Crooked River Ranch, near Terrebonne, where we checked into the yurt that we'd reserved. There was a full moon, so we headed out to the trailhead for the canyon after sunset and attempted to catch the moon rising on our iPhones...somewhat unsuccessfully :-) It's interesting how the iPhone caught the light in the canyon, and in the desert. We also looked at the stars, at least until the outdoor lights automatically came on! (See extras)
