Glen Finglas Reservoir from Ben Ledi

Ben Ledi today. I am ashamed to admit that this is the first time I have climbed Ben Ledi, ridiculous as its on our doorstep but that's probably why. Our friends Bod and Valerie were joining us and we set off just after midday. There was some light rain early on but not enough to bother with a waterproof as it was extremely humid and warm.

The day turned fine after that and we even saw some blue skies and sunshine. Some time was spent at the summit searching for whisky, there had been a tip off that there was a bottle hidden close to the summit....it wasn't found so will live to sustain some other walkers.

We took the direct route down (not the route we were meant to go), it was very direct, steep etc. this was the first time I have walked with poles and am now a convert, particularly on the descent.

Carry out dinner as we were too hungry to wait and the 4 of us are ow camped at the kitchen table with malt whisky and wine :-)
