Cromdales…

en route to survey site, no beetles. Called down to the riverside where I knew there was a patch of Scabious. Best I’ve ever seen it and a first record for this site for the Small Scabious Mining bee, quite a few. Also, Red Admiral, Peacock, Comma, Small White and Speckled Wood butterflies. There were even Field Pansies in with the Scabious! Found nest holes for Andrena too! Lovely! They were all enjoying the warmth, 24°.
