All tattered and torn

Exceedingly hot today. Our entire garden faces due south. We recorded 34 degrees in the shade. I had a walk in the comparative cool of the Wigmore Rolls and saw 15 species of butterfly including quite a few second brood Wood Whites although only one very tattered and torn Silver-washed fritillary. No maiden all forlorn or cow with crumpled horn.
