Here At Last!

I finally made it....I have missed so much time up here with medical appointments, that I was beginning to think I might not get back before the end of summer! I missed last week because of cardiology stuff, but have now been able to get up here for my second week before the cottage time goes to my sister's family. Whew!

I must confess it was a tough day - I have been living in air conditioning all summer and in this heat wave, I knew my body would have some trouble adjusting to no AC! And it did. 

By the timeI got here, I was exhausted and feeling a bit out of it...but after a wee lie-down to rest, I perked up enough to enjoy the rest of the day. With the weather forecasting a break in the heat wave overnight, things are looking much better.

I am not alone here at the moment as my daughter and SIL have their boat anchored in our back bay and are spending their days here on land but retreating to their boat overnight. So ...I am easing into being alone again here on the island. They will be here for a few days and by then I should be OK again with being by myself. I am being extra cautious to avoid falling again... One fall was enough and not to be repeated! 

It was a busy afternoon. Friends dropped by to visit and after they left, I was able to get into the lake for a swim. To understate it - it was a most enjoyable thing to do in heat wave! Aaaaah...cool at last. 

My daughter and SIL are great cooks so we had a delicious dinner out on the deck - the only place to catch a breeze...and after that? An early night  - off to bed! 

PS: I watched a pair of hummers for quite some time, but the lighting was not great; they aren't in focus, but then by that time, I wasn't either! 
But i have included them anyway in the extra.
