In the pink...
I was awake before the alarm again this morning. I'm conscious that the nights are drawing in so maybe my body is subconsciously trying to get as much light as possible :-)
D was playing golf at the local course as he does on a Wednesday and he and F were joined by a club member they hadn't met before. An older man who, once he and D got talking, discovered he'd been our friend K's boss for many years when K was just starting out on his career. It really is a small world!
It's been so warm here today. Twenty-eight degrees forecast but a friend messaged me saying her garden thermometer said thirty-two degrees. I am not good in the heat so after lunch I spent the afternoon in my wee studio (north facing room so lovely and cool and no glare from the sun) painting the background on the slate for S & L.
While the paint dried I sketched some ideas for the design I want to paint on it. It will have the name of their house and I think I will surround it with Scottish flowers. Well that's the idea at the moment. Still not sure what design I will use on Anna and Faith's. I am hoping my subconscious is working on that and when I come to paint theirs, the design will just pop into my head.
it was lovely watering the tubs in the garden this evening in a much more pleasant temperature. Reminded me of evenings in France when sitting in the garden till bedtime was one of the highlights of our holiday :-) In Bonnie Scotland the temperature tends to drop sharply from 7pm.
Neither D and I were hungry enough for dinner so it was toast with peanut butter and a drizzle of Manuka honey for me, and toast with cream cheese and cucumber for D.
Still waiting for the storm.
