Advance Preparation

We went mundane shopping. I bought two of everything, where one would do: oils, vinegar, oatmilk, flour. I do like having a stock - that secure feeling. Logs in August. We have a current account with a second bank, that we barely use, for the day when ours crashes its computer systems. Candles in the draw (beeswax, of course), gas bottles in the shed, a camping stove, a sealed water butt. I suppose in the right company I could become a prepper

They say logs warm you three times: once when you chop them, once when you stack them and once when you burn them. I could probably have chosen a better day than mid-heatwave to have them delivered. Not so much a mistake, just an administrative error
