Sun-kissed

N Today I have my first Methotrexate checkup in Liverpool, and we use it as an opportunity for some last minute pre-trip shopping as well as a visit to the Meols family.

It’s very hot in both Chester and Liverpool, but shopping’s successful (G finds his new trainers - not easy as he’s determined not to buy any that have obvious brand markings!) as is the checkup.  My blood results are fine, and I’m to continue with the same dosage for the next few months. He agrees that the extreme tiredness is probably linked to my body getting used to the drugs as it is worse immediately following the weekly dose. I leave with a bagful of medication, including some eyedrops as my eyes have become incredibly itchy and sore over the last few days.

Over in Meols, Lili is on top form. Today, I have a lovely smile and hug from her as soon as she sees me - very different from a few weeks ago.  There’s play in the garden and splashing in her little paddling pool - which also helps to remove some of the post-nursery grime. She’s had a ‘spa day’ today and there are photos of foot baths full of rose petals etc! It really is an excellent nursery!

No surprise that it’s a Lili main today - just a happy little girl enjoying the early evening sun. And there’s an extra triptych of some water play as G drips water over her!
