Up at ridiculous o'clock to head to London. The train was slightly delayed in getting to Paddington.

Said a few more goodbyes to the team and had a call about some potential work. Nothing definite but another good contact that could help secure me some work. When I was discussing my situation she couldn't believe why they were getting rid of me.

I had to get out of the office at lunchtime, they were discussing the structure of my team without me and I just couldn't face that. I went for a wander around London and sat in the park for a good while.

The weather decided to take a turn for the worse, it got dark and then as my young padawan joined me the heavens opened. She had an umbrella, I didn't.

An increase in salary has been discussed for my young padawan. If they have any small chance of keeping her, it is the least they can do.

We then went out in the evening, first of all to a vegan restaurant just off Oxford Circus. The food was very nice and we probably had a bit too much, we were stuffed. Lol! I gave a present to my young padawan, she has been a joy to work with over these five years and to see her grow and develop into this mature young lady ready to take the next step on the career ladder. She was quite touched and of course I shed some tears as I tried to say a few words but she just said she knew.

We then walked across London to Hyde Park to see the Proms. It was another great evening.

Today I am thankful for:
