Caen Hill (Thursday 14th August 2025)

A night on trickle charge showed that Archie's battery was completely dead. Therefore, there was no choice but to drive to the Autocentre in Trowbridge to get a replacement under the guarantee.

I stopped at Caen Hill on the way home to take a few pictures, and later at the Smallgrains Plantation where I took the second Extra.

Garnett Mimms - My Baby (1966)
Janis Joplin recorded so many songs written by Jerry Ragovoy one would think he was her producer or in some way connected to her, but it would seem she was just a fan. Her version of My Baby was on the album Pearl , released after her death in 1971, but the original version was by Garnett Mimms, produced and co-written by Jerry Ragovoy. I'd never heard it until I found it on Dave Godin's Deep Soul Treasures (Vol. 4).
