cooling
If the heat is getting to you, then try imagining that you are in this lovely shady wood. I was passing through it on my way to collect a camping chair which I had left at Sunday's Open Garden (which, incidentally, raised over £4500!).
The morning was overcast, so I took the opportunity to do some gardening, mostly pottering around, cutting back things that had finished flowering, splitting a few perennials, and generally tidying here and there. Really, it was just nice to be outside. I was listening out for robins and heard a few snatches of song, but the birds are very quiet now. I met my neighbour who was sad because his old dog went to the vets yesterday for a final visit. They had spent his last afternoon on the beach. He had had him for 14 years, from a pup.
I took Jess down to Routin Brig this evening for a cooling swim :-)
