Fledgling Blue Tit ( Cyanistes caeruleus )
As well as putting food for the squirrel in the squirrel feeder I also drop two or three Hazelnuts on the feeder ring at the feeding station among the bird food. After all some of our first views of the returning squirrel were on the bird feeders.
Recently the nuts have been going but we haven't seen the squirrel. I can't think of anything else capable of carrying away a nut. I wanted proof! So I set the trail camera up pointing at the feeder, just outside the window.
Looking out of the window I saw this fledgling that had decided the camera made a good perch so it had to be blipped. One of the catches on the camera is damaged hence the clip that it found so useful as a perch.
