Despite the desert like conditions there still pockets of colour around the allotments although they’re a bit autumnal already. I was there mostly for watering but did a bit more tidying up (the compost bin is now full to the brim) and sowed some salad and, for some unknown reason, kale. Some hungry beast has been unearthing spuds so I headed home with yet more of them and another pre-marrow courgette. Spuds for my tea then before heading out to the tenpin. No great form from me but it’s a team game and we won so that’s fine and gets our season off to a solid start.
