VJ DAY - 80 YEARS

REMEMBERING VJ DAY - 80 YEARS

Remembering all those who served in the Far East and the Pacific and were still fighting whilst the rest of Europe were celebrating VE Day.
-----
A trip into Ulverston this morning.  I had a couple of things that I needed to get for a birthday so that I can post them out next week.

Hubby stayed home to take an order from Morrisons and go into town, so Garron and I headed off.  The roads were lovely and quiet for a Friday.  Managed to park under a tree so all was good.

First port of call was, of course, Gillams for drinks and tea bread.  The a wander into Brambles, Squirrel and the new shop that features local crafts, then into the Market, for G to look at the second-hand books and toy car shops before heading into Boots and back to the car.

On the way back to the car we saw this gentleman on his way from the service at the War memorial.  I loved the fact that wee dog somehow photobombed me!!!  Sad to say we missed that service which I would have liked to have observed.

We stopped off at Brooke Supplies for a light lunch of homemade quiche followed by two scoops of ice-cream from "The Handmade Icecream Company" in Greenodd.
