Red Kite Calling

There was a red kite perched at the top of a tree in a near neighbour’s garden this morning. It was there for ages and calling loudly! I managed to get a distant shot of it by poking my camera through our bathroom window. This is heavily cropped, but you can see it clearly enough..mouth wide open.

The grandcats seem well settled … but not playing ball with the camera (yet). They (at least one of them) is having ‘fun’ with the robot vacuum cleaner which trundles around the ground floor each morning. The little rotating brushes at the front of the machine seem particularly interesting. I have tried to photograph the encounter, but there is not really enough light indoors at 7 a.m. - I will keep trying :-)
