Best seat in the house

Woke up well enough, but declined pretty spectacularly throughout the course of the day. Feeling dizzy and slightly discombobulated… more so than usual. Tried to do a few light things, but in the end, just gave up. Thought I would sit down and read – but, as always, any attempt to do so is stymied by the presence of a cat, and cats are not to be moved (as any cat owner knows).
 
My cousin’s house over in Port Alberni has some pretty spectacular views of the wildfires on Vancouver Island (see extra). It is a hell of a mess. I had a conversation with someone I had a conversation with someone over the weekend about global warming and how there was no evidence it is down to human activity. I almost choked on my tofu bar. Seriously though, what else can it be down to? The lack of actual leadership in “western democracies” is terrifying. Is it really that hard for people to understand? The extra is the view from their window. Using a zoom lens, I hasten to add. 
 
Mrs. Ottawacker took Ottawacker Jr. to his practice, and the moment she left the building, we got a phone call from CHEO (the children’s hospital) to tell us the new date for his operation. Again, the hospital was very apologetic about the last time, and set the date for September 19. We’ll get the call two days before to go through the pre-op routine and find out the precise time. So, Ottawacker Jr. gets his wish of a little time off school. He was suitably happy when he returned from the practice.
