Discovering water

Pepper and I set off early in search of water in the woods.  One of the streams is still running and Pepper even did a taste test.  We extended our walk along the old Luton to Welwyn garden railway line to check out the pond.  As you can see, it still has water but a lot less than normal.

The water from this pond disappears into the ground and a keen scientist once did a dye test to see where it goes.  Apparently it reappeared somewhere near Ware which according to Google is about 8 miles away.

Having has an early start (5 am thanks to a moist nose rubbing mine) and an extended walk, we both had a  nap before lunch.

I now have a night off as she is going to visit Duchess tonight in preparation for a long long walk tomorrow.  Grandpa is acting as chauffeur for the trip.
