The Scotch Piper

The Scotch Piper is the oldest pub in Lancashire. It dates from 1320 and it is a grade two listed building. In the recent past it has always been a bit of a bikers pub. I think I have only been in the once. Tony Blair visited while he was PM but I doubt the current PM would be welcome or any of his government. The painting is in the window at Maghull railway station.

Everything I need to service the Guzzi arrived this afternoon. I do need a new feeler gauge for adjusting the tappets. My old one has gone a bit rusty.

Another very hot day. Managed to get a few jobs done.

Our niece came back from Australia last weekend for a brief visit which has convinced her never to come back. She describes this country as angry, dirty and overcrowded and can't wait to leave. I can't say I disagree.

Two years since my Dad passed away. Seems like yesterday. Perhaps not the most appropriate picture because he didn't like motorcycles.
