Celtic Cross
A friend of ours is staying with some friends of his in a house on the Camel Estuary almost opposite Padstow. They kindly invited us to lunch. As the tide was low, after lunch we walked down the beach towards Rock and visited the pretty little church of St Michael's Porthilly. This Celtic Cross, possibly 10th century is in the churchyard immediately off the beach. It has a plinth buried in the grass, but it is so short it may have come from another plinth. A beautiful, peaceful, timeless place.
