Steinbock_Travels Day 47
Today we decided to speed up a bit and get into Finland. The first stop on the way was Kirkenes. Like most small towns up here, destroyed by the Germans when they left, with the scorched earth policy. A very interesting photo exhibition in the town, from late 1800s, a doctor’s wife from Christiana Oslo) who was educated and a photographer. The photos were everyday life with the Sami. After Kirkenes we entered Finland, and headed south to Utsjoki, found a beautiful campsite next to Tana River. It was warm and sunny, I got the blanket out and lay around in the sun, reading and lazing around for a couple of hours. Mr S tried some fishing, but no luck.
