Fair Isle Fae Afar
A cloudy start to the day, a tad on the chilly side. It wasn't long before the skies cleared, and beautiful sunny and warm day and evening.
I was working this morning, on oil waste collections from eateries around Lerwick. Knocked off early, headed home for more chores, pack the suitcase, said cheerio to folk, headed for the ferry. A smooth sailing tonight.
A week's holiday ahead. Caught the ferry to Kirkwall this evening, staying overnight in Stromness, then on to Scotland tomorrow morning. A lovely evening for being on the sea, and some spectacular views as we passed the isles. Unfortunately I've still never stepped foot on Fair Isle, maybe I should have gone there for a mini break. The cliffs were stunning in the sunlight, then buildings started to appear. At times like this, I should have had my proper camera, the 30x zoom on my phone really doesn't do it justice and poor quality from a distance, but I'll just have to head there and see the isle for real another time. Looking to the kirk, through the cliffs, Fair Isle.
