Rainy day abstract
We had rain overnight and it's been raining all day so far. What a relief!
G decided not to golf today - too wet! He came to town with me. We had quite a long wait at the road repairs, and I took this when we were stopped. There's a property that has an interesting rammed earth fence. I took this from the passenger seat through the driver's side window. I liked the raindrops on the window and the abstract look to the wall and vegetation.
We went for coffee and a muffin, and the cafe was very busy, A guy was sitting by himself and said that we were welcome to join him. Turned out that he was a teacher from Connecticut, and we had a very interesting lengthy conversation with him. His views about education and politics are similar to ours. His name was Craig, and he has a professional development grant to have different experiences that will expand his knowledge and enhance his teaching skills. We were the 7th and 8th educators that he's talked to so far, and all the conversations just happened without planning, engaging with strangers who coincidentally were also educators. He has to do a presentation when he gets home, so he took our names and will include snippets from our conversation. He said that America is having an identity crisis and he's concerned about his country. An enjoyable conversation for sure.
We picked up some groceries and dropped off the recycling. The extra was also taken from the car at the recycling centre.
Once I finish posting this, I'm going to sit out on the porch and enjoy listening to the rain in the forest.
