Food
That looks like food! - in stark contrast to the hospital dinners.
Finally in.
Mom wasn’t good in the morning and the new consultant came to find me so we could talk before mom’s discharge. (He was very nice).
The ambulance seemingly were ‘booked’ for 1pm but didn’t turn up till 3:30
However, by then mom had had a sleep laying down (after I put her back onto the stripped bed) and she was much more herself and enjoyed watching pointless while we waited.
She engaged with the ambulance crew the whole time from in the hospital, during the drive, and into the home.
She recognised all her things and talked about each (it being her bed because Raggy was on it; dad’s etching of Piccadilly Circus…)
Audrey had flowers delivered so mom got to open those once she was in and straight away it was dinner time. Mom liked the fish to begin with …. then decided that she didn’t! She then looked forward to ice cream and peaches but took so long to get to it that the ice cream had melted and it was “just milk”.
And it started to spiral down.
I left about 7pm slightly anxious that I’d miss swimming. No need to worry. 8:15 and we were on our way to pick Fiona up and off we went, with the dogs, to Burnsall. Sarah met us there and the four of us swam and the two girls frolicked and barked and swam and pounced and rolled in the sand ….
The water was black velvet and delicious!
And such a good temperature.
I didn’t want to get out.
Ahhhh! :)
