The Untrained Eye

By untrainedeye

Renoir's painting.

Our friends took us up to the highest point in Guernsey ( I cycled) where we stopped for a coffee.

The cafe had a mini exhibition of paintings by Renoir painted from there in 1883.
This is one,  named: Brouillard A Guernsey! Which means ' Fog in Guernsey'.
But it's not a painting its a photograph and I took it.
It's not even a complete image as Renoir painted it.
I've removed the sun umbrellas at the bottom because the were not in this painting.
I couldn't get fog effect or brush strokes so I've just deepened the colours.
The cottage was a ruin in 1883 when he painted it.
So the holiday cottage sign wouldn't have been there.

But apart from that , it's almost an exact replica.
