The Art Of Cornering
I can't quite believe today is my five year blipversary! It feels like just yesterday that I started my blip journey and aeons ago at the same time if that makes any sense!
I was a complete photographic novice when I started, apart from the usual snaps that surely everyone takes, and I still am to a large extent as my technical knowledge has not really progressed that far - albeit I now know an ISO from an aperture and a shutter speed from an exposure.
I am not the most consistent of blippers - I have periods of posting lots of blips in a row, leaving huge gaps in my journal which I have to return to later and being devoid of any inspiration whatsoever to feeling highly motivated to get an image every day and then back again to an apprehension that there is far more 'filler' ( a.k.a emergency blips) than 'killer' on my journal but I really wouldn't be without it and whenever I'm flagging I always take encouragement from the ingenuity, imagination, originality, joy and pure forbearance of my fellow blippers who also share their photos and life stories and in addition their kind comments, stars and favourites. It's such a lovely community to be part of. Thank you all!
Today's image was taken on one of my favourite corners in our local town of Maidstone to get a street shot and giving it that title may be stretching a metaphor to breaking point but it really is one of my ideal places to attempt an image at this time of year with the reflections in the shop windows, the colours from the flowering street planters and of course the helpful addition of that street photography staple, a handily placed passer-by! :-)
