Empty nest

Today I made a start on the annual round of hedge cutting. With over a kilometer of hedging to complete its quite an undertaking. First task is checking for nesting birds. I didn't find any but I did spot this lovely wasps' nest on the wall beside our side garden gate. I must have walked past it dozens of times and not noticed it before. Its one of three that I'm aware of in the garden. Fortunately the wasps have already abandoned this one.
