A day at the seaside
Through to Portobello today for an 80th birthday picnic on the beach. I'd made a cake with windfall apples and everyone brought something to share and enjoy. At the party was an eclectic group of women with ages ranging from (almost) 80 to 40 and various points between. We all used to live in Stirling and, though now scattered, we try to get together a couple of times a year. It's always such an easy time as we have lots of shared history.
By way of celebration four of us had a swim. I hadn't taken my costume but there was no escape because one of my friends found a spare costume in the pocket of her dry robe. It was actually pretty warm and enjoyable to have a dook.
Home now and we are getting ready for this evening's entertainment. A bat talk and walk organised by the local environment group. I'm looking forward to it though I must say I'm quite tired after travel, swimming, celebrating and spending long hours in the lovely sunshine.
I won't be able to look much at blip I'm afraid.
The blip is one of the Row Porty skiffs being taken down to the water. I know there is at least one Blipper who rows with this group. I used to work with one of the women in my blip. She was a marvellous colleague and it was a pleasure to see her today.
