plum cake

Cake with plums in it, more than plum cake. I put in a lot more plums than the recipe required and now I think this may have made the whole cake a bit precarious. We shall see. Also made some kind of compote from the plums: I’ve never done this before so can’t really tell if it’s worked or not. Again, we shall see.
Dull day, very tired again, and even more so after somewhat uninspiring tennis. The plums were just the right thing to do: easy, not requiring any mental effort, and yet with a creative feel.
I’m currently reading a biography of Sylvia Plath which possibly isn’t contributing to my cheerfulness levels. It’s a terrific read though, makes me feel as though I actually know her..
