Croome grasslands

It was almost too hot for a long walk around the estate today. The early cloud burnt off. The easterly breeze silenced the M5 traffic noise. Buzzards soared. Kingfisher flashed. Freshwater mussel shells were scattered near the shore. The fish struggled for air in the dwindling lake. The families thronged the grounds nearest the house. The prolonged drought shows no sign of releasing its grip. Voluntary shift in town this evening.
