Wood mouse Apodemus sylvaticus

Pop-eyed, with a plush brown coat these little mice are the commonest in the forest. They home in on the peanuts, bird-seed and rubbish bins around the Visitor Centre.  Usually they take off at speed when uncovered or disturbed but this one found the pickings too engrossing to flee.
