Prolific
The dahlias have thrived in the warm dry weather this summer. This particular variety, Chat Noir, has grown very tall and wide with a huge number of flowers. My blip shows just a small number of them.
This morning we said goodbye to Andy’s son, waving him off on his train back to Edinburgh. We’ll miss his chatty company. After a short walk in Emsworth we returned home and did some domestic chores to begin to prepare for a visit from Andy’s 86 year old uncle who will be staying with us next week.
I also made a visit to the allotment to do some harvesting - something which has been a little neglected these past few days. I returned with raspberries, blackberries, French beans, spinach, chard, potatoes and a large bag of plums. I suspect I’ll be doing more preserving tomorrow!
