Look Up!

A very busy day. Started off by making a batch of granola. Then I took a carload of laundry down to my son’s house and went back and forth to wash and dry three loads. I actually brought most of the drying back here, which was more convenient but meant I had to carry heavy wet baskets. Then our garden helper came, and I intended to work with her but ended up running back downtown to switch out laundry loads. Then Mr S’s phone rang and it was radiology; there’s been a cancellation, could he come later this afternoon. Of course. Of course we can. You bet. We can move dinner out a bit, call our friends, they’ll be okay with it. Off we go. It runs smoothly. The best part is the postponed dinner—a quiet place with good food, our friends are good company, we all have a fine time. I relax for the first time all day. And while we’re eating I get a text from the washing machine repair folks, offering me an appointment for Tuesday morning, almost two weeks to the day since the washer got stuck with the wet clothes inside. I can hardly wait to see what happens next.
