St Bernard's Bridge
Over the Water of Leith. The steps and added archways were built in 1887
Newspaper first, just as the sun was coming out. Walked over to St Mary's for lunchtime music : Layla Ballard (cello) and Archie Bonham (piano).
Sonata pour violincello et piano - Debussy 1915
Cello Sonata in C - Prokofiev 1949
Prelude for Cello and Piano - Moeran 1943
Wonderful virtuoso playing and some fine melodies though not my favorite period nor composers. There were at least 100 people in the audience.
Early evening walk through Stockbridge - Hamilton Place is closed to busses and cars for more gas works. The new flats on Henderson Place seem to have occupants, and some are still for sale. Lots of people about in the mild sunshine as we came back through the New Town.
