Leaving Salbris

Stayed in a conveniently located Chateaux last night and was up quite early to get on the road before the heat hit. This is the drive leaving the Chateaux. It’s a few minutes to the motorway from here. Managed to find a convenient place to stop for a quick omelette and chips at lunch.

As it’s holiday season the trick seems to be finding somewhere to eat as close to noon as possible. Leave it to 1pm and you are chancing it if you are on a motorway journey, queues off the motorway and queues at eateries seemed a bit bad. We found this intriguing cafe high above the motorway, like a wooden chalet with sitting space inside, a relief to stop and eat with some sort of air conditioning / shade. Magnac-Bourg apparently!


Arrived at MrH’s folks with 35% battery left in the car and managed to cope with a very warm and stuffy house, not helped by complete lack of breeze outside. Thankfully there are fans :-)
