a lifetime burning

Green Veined White

A shot of a rather pristine looking green veined white coming in to land and nectar from the verbena.  It took me a while to get this shot this morning.  The breezy conditions meant that sitting on what used to be grass, waiting for insects was not too uncomfortable, as it was pleasantly cooling.  However, it did mean that then getting a successful shot of something was very much a miss and miss affair most of the time.  I managed a sequence of 4 frames of this butterfly while it was in flight, but this is the frame in which it is sharpest, and has still not quite landed.
