A nice quick journey home.  Most plants seem to have survived the hot weather we missed while we were away, although the box hedges have been badly attacked :-(.

Nice also to be greeted by lots of young birds, butterflies and dragonflies flitting about.  This is a mature male Common Darter, a smallish dragonfly, that was resting on the lavender before hunting across our "lawn"/wild flower meadow.
