Dahlias
Today's the day ........................ for interim results
Did I tell you that I was doing a Dahlia Trial this summer?
Back in March, I studied the website of a well-known plant nursery - and after much deliberation, decided on seven varieties of dahlias that were new to me. The idea was that I would plant the tubers out in a special bed and I would compare how they all did.
And here are five of them. The other two are almost at flowering stage but I thought you would be keen to know how I was getting on, so here are the interim results?! They are from left to right - Bishop of Oxford, Bishop of York, Islander, Black Jack and High Fidelity. The remaining ones are Bristol Stripe and Happy Butterfly. I think so far, I'm awarding the prize for 'easiest to grow and most outstanding blooms' to Black Jack - but that may change as the season progresses.
The fact is the whole lot only cost £18.67 - and as you can tell, I've had endless fun with them all .......................!
