A lovely sunny forecast for WWT Martin Mere today & so off I went. It was indeed sunny & by the time I left, a very warm 28C. A relatively quiet day bird wise - all the recent interesting birdies from the Ron Barker hide weren't there - with the exception of a distant barn owl.

Lots of cattle egrets with the lovely longhorns - main blip -  & the extra is a very entertaining little wren - either cooling down or trying to have a dust bath without the dust.

Nice day all round & I always love the friendly chatter & banter in the hides.
