Picked up the A-Z again

Took myself right out of my usual areas to go to church - one I'd been interested in visiting for a while as it's one where one of my former students is an altar server. I'd decided 3 years was a long enough gap. 

When I was looking up Mass times yesterday, so I could plan buses, I'd realised one of the live-stream recordings available was of a sibling's wedding and, on quick investigation, Former Student was the Altar Server for the Nuptial Mass!! This was far too good to miss! It was professional interest on several levels, liturgical, musical, and Main Workplace educational, but it was also fabulous watching how much that particular student had grown up over the last few years. I also got glimpses of another former student... They've both grown up and yet not changed one iota!!

I have a feeling that I pitched on the wrong Mass time (3 across the day) but I may well do a return on my next Sunday Off The Organ Bench in October. It was fabulous to be somewhere with absolutely no responsibility whatsoever. 

I did a bit of an amble around the area, both before church and after, as this was also new territory on the long term A-Z walking plan (New page ventured into! Hooray!!) and this avenue of trees was a cool place to finish the last bit of the walk before getting a bus back because it was too hot to walk much more. The leaves on the ground are ridiculously dry and crunchy.
