Tree Peony

These are sun dried seed pods which I found when deadheading other plants today. Full of optimism that I might be able germinate some, I referred to the internet. The good news is that the black colour means the seeds are fertile. The not so good news is that it needs 2 Winters of vernalisation to start the process. After the first Winter roots are produced and after the second shoots appear leading to possible flowering after 5 years, which then may not revert to type. Given the urgency I don't think it will matter if I ponder on this for a day or two!
